After one month of intense playing of Elite: Dangerous. I opened up my Warthog with prototype #0 PTFE ring, and saw the following wear, see attached pictures.

The good news is the PTFE ring itself seems to have no wear except the expected groove due to material settlement, but there are some white paste/flakes, evidence of wear. It's very tiny amount, but it's wear This amount of wear represents hundreds of hours of playing with minimal amount of SuperLube grease.

So, as you can see, there is indeed wear on the PTFE ring, but no wear on the stick ball rim. That's a very good news for PTFE ring users. Because this is solid evidence that it is designed as intended -- the PTFE ring wears, not the ball rim, and the wear is so minimal.

The bad news is for those who took off the PTFE ring or the stock rubber ring and run around naked. Your ball rim will wear!!!

How much will the ball rim wear if you let the plastic ball rim contact the steel surface? I don't know, and I do not intend to find out.

Great findings.
Listen, I'm sorry to bother but I'm actually REALLY interested in one or two of these rings.

I think I sent you a PM.

After reading this I'm even more interested!
